AlCan Hwy
Taylor BC
Donald and Charlotte Taylor settled here in 1912 and ran a ferry - the only way to cross the Peace River in summer. The bridge was built in 1943. It was the longest on the AlCan at 2130 feet. It failed in 1957. With a new bridge, it's still the longest water span on the Alaska Hwy.
Historically, Taylor was an important supply point on the heavily traveled Peace River.
