From Dawson Creek to Ft Nelson the highway aims north before turning west. Many public and private campgrounds dot this 283mi stretch, before and after Ft St John. Buckinghorse River crosses the highway and flows through the park at mile 173.3, a bit more than half way to Ft Nelson. The 33 site campground is excellent for a short break or longer stay for fishing and swimming.
