The
historic "Main Street"(see previous page)is a stroll back
in time. There are at least nine structures to roam through. I was
passing by too early to have access to interiors. The Hudson Bay House,
right, represents the company's take over of the North West Fur Trading
Co. in 1821. The original Hudson Bay Co. post disappeared in an 1890
flood. This one must be a later version. Mail service came to Ft Nelson
in 1936. This building may be from that era or the 1940's. |
