The Alcan slices through the 50+ mile length of Muncho Lake Prov. Park. Muncho Lake spreads 7 miles, along the road. As the drawing shows, the lake is sandwiched between the Sentinel and Terminal Ranges of the Northern Rockies. Peterson Mountain, above and right, is named for a local trapper and guide Pete Peterson. He helped construction crews find the best route for the road through here. A canyon and creek are also named for him.
