Haines
Junction, like many AlCan towns, was an important site for construction
the AlCan, started in 1942. Haines Hwy was done too. The Village Monument
represents the terrain and wildlife of the Kluane area. The 24 foot
creation is locally known as "The Muffin," and "Animal
Cupcake." This man was gracious enough to show me a mammoth tooth
discovered at a Dawson City mining site. Both ancient and current
fauna on display. |
