The
Lower Liard River bridge is the last suspension bridge standing along
the AlCan. It's 1,143 feet of girders and cables supported by concrete
piers. This view: north end looking south. The top left photo, from
the bridge middle, shows the Liard flowing from the north. Its origin
is in the St Cyr Range, northwest of Watson Lake. It flows southeast
before joining the Mackenzie River at Ft Simpson, NWT. |
