Historic Forty Mile Roadhouse opened in 1949, at the junction of the AlCan and what is now Alaska Hwy 5 - Taylor Hwy, leading to Chicken AK; and on to Dawson City YT via Yukon Hwy 9. The site had tourist cabins, gone now, and a store and garage, still there. I believe the building, right was the gas station. Forty Mile Roadhouse closed in 1985. The site is private property, so I didn't get to photograph the interiors of the buildings.
